There were things that Jesse West would never comprehend about his boyfriend, Stuart Freeman. Like he wasn’t sure why he never got up and left way back when he still could have, and he never could figure out what it was about Stu’s smile that set his gut rolling around like it was strapped to a roller coaster.

Physical abnormalities? (Both visible and not, including injuries/disabilities, long-term illnesses, food-intolerances, etc.)
- Stu, over the course of the war ran into a few bullets and that one time a shell hit him and took out a chunk of his leg. But before that he lived the life of a street kid, running about daft, tripping over things and being ridiculous. When he was five, he split his head open. It’s not very noticeable unless you’re close but you can see the beginning of the scar inching past the edge of his hairline. On his left arm is a jagged, faded scar from trying to escape a back yard he had adventured into, and he broke his arm rather awfully. There aren’t many left over problems from that, but he’s found that arm is weaker than the other and begins to ache if he’s been using it to lift a lot of things.
What recharges them when they’re feeling drained?
- Affection, really. As silly as it sounds Stu can get through most things with a cuddle and a smile. If there’s no affection to be found, it’s alcohol. A few drinks of whiskey and Stu can curl up in a ball and just pretend the world doesn’t exist and it’s just fine.
Childhood illnesses? Any interesting stories behind them?
- Stuart was generally a healthy kid, he was active and his mother did just about anything to make sure there was good food on the table. Most of his illnesses were gained from doing stupid things. Like the time he got chicken pox because Davy Taylor dared him to kiss the girl inflicted with it, and Stu wasn’t going to turn down a dare, or the time he got mono from a similar sort of reason. Otherwise, he was just fine.

What does their bedroom look like?
- Stu’s bedroom is really quite small, there’s room for the bed and a dresser and not much room to move around. The walls are a nice, light colour though and his mother convinced him that curtains are a good thing, considering the window in his room looks directly onto a window of the building next to them. It’s generally messy, clothes cluttered about, but Stu likes it like that, it stops the floor from being cold when he steps on it in the early mornings. On top of the dresser normally sits a bunch of sketch pads, where he scribbles away his skylines and buildings he dreams up.
What would they do if they needed to make dinner but the kitchen was busy?
- Stu would just give up waiting and probably run off to get some kind of fastfood/take away/restaraunt meal. He gets impatient when he’s hungry and just isn’t going to faff about asking people to get out of his way.
What is their biggest regret?
- Stu’s biggest regret probably revolves around his father, and the fact that he left. Stu wishes that things could have gone different and his mother hadn’t been all alone, but by the same token she’s met the nice landlord and things are going well so Stu can’t really, totally regret it. It probably just bothers him he couldn’t go to the funeral, for being in Germany etc.
Hobbies?
- Sketching and drawing up buildings, although he’s not often willing to let people know that.
How do they express love?
- Stu is a big, dumb teddy bear when it comes to love. His affection comes with kisses and hugs and a lot of contact. He might not right out say “I love you” often, but there’s never really a question of his intentions. Even with his friends, he’s overly affectionate. So. Many. Kisses.
